Brighton Primary is a government, co-educational primary school with nearly 630 students. It is located in one of Melbourne’s inner bayside suburbs.
Brighton Primary is more than a school. It is a community of shared values dedicated to maximising the learning outcomes for all students. We believe that each student has the potential to exceed expectations. Students are encouraged to question and apply their learning, think independently, consider different views and ideas and reflect on their learning to achieve even better results.
Our vision for our students is:
To build a community of active learners who can meet the challenges of our rapidly changing world and become responsible global citizens.
We want our students to have the skills, knowledge and personal attributes they need to take the next step in life when they leave Brighton Primary School.
Brighton Primary School is proud to be internationally accredited by the Council of International Schools and authorised to deliver the Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate.
Learning and teaching are our core business, with a strong focus on developing the whole child. This is supported by a rich specialist program that includes: Music and Drama, Sport, Visual Arts and an introduction to Italian language and culture. As well, Brighton Primary School hosts a Regional Hearing Unit for students with severe hearing impairment. The specialist Teachers of the Deaf work in the classrooms with teachers and students.
The school has strong generational ties and we are the school of choice in our local community. Parents at Brighton Primary School can be involved in a wide range of activities including membership of school council and its sub committees, Canteen, classroom support, excursions, sport, the Perceptual Motor Program, Uniform shop, working bees, fundraising, and family social events. Substantial fundraising by parents and the wider community has enabled the school to acquire first class facilities.
I invite you to take the time find out more about our school and what we offer you and your family.
